If looks could really kill...

I blog fashion, health, fitness, art, feminism, supernatural and just a smidge of disney. My blog is place to put things that inspire me daily. Sometimes it is a little erratic - and thats OK because so am I. It is a moodboard- if you will- that evolves continuously. 2012 is trying my patience.

I try to credit all the photos I post. If I post something that is credited wrong or yours please let me know with the link so i can fix it =). I dont own any images unless they are tagged as me or myart. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and have a lovely day =)

Soundwave was amazing…

…even though I couldnt find my friends after I finished work, and Vodafone just decided to be a fucking (insert every expletive in the world here) . I bumped into a couple of acquaintances though, and chatted to them before I ran off. Honestly, it was probably a blessing in disguise because I got to see everyone I wanted.

Bush were beautiful and my heart soared so many times and Glycerine was more than i ever could have imagined performed live. They didn’t play swallowed though, which was a bitch - but they played all my other faves. Kittie were a little dissapointing. but… Id see them again if they returned. They seemed surprised that the crowd knew who they were (they asked) and their performance improved after that. Marilyn Manson was DISSAPOINTING. I watched a fat, posturing, middle aged guy fall around on stage off his fucking face. The whole time i was thinking… are you serious??? Perry Farrell (Janes Addiction) can pull off being wasted on stage (beautifully). Manson just looked like a dick. Words cannot convey how dissapointed I am, and I wish I had been able to see him 10 years ago. I dont know if he thought fuck it because its a festival…. But from what I have heard from friends who have seen him before?  I expected more. The band sounded relatively good and all, but… *throws hands up* so disspointing.

I also saw meshuggah (solid), The summer set (intrigued), Madina Lake (surprising), Forever the sickest kids (yawn), Zakk Wylde (YES), the tail end of Machinehead (gooood), ummmm the end of Limp Bizkit (yawn), Bad Religion (always SOLID!) who made me wonder why i dont listen to them more!!! (i feel so lucky to have seen them three times), a few songs from slipknot (yawn… im not a fan. so cliched). I dont really remember who else I saw now - so they cant have been great.

Who I did see though was System of a Down. NOW, this is a band i DID see 10 years ago (2002 BDO), and they were pretty good so I was keen to see how they were a decade later. I fully intended to go laugh at Angels and Airwaves after an hour of system, and then wander down to Raised Fist. Instead, I sat there mesmerised. Great Lights. Serj was ON FIRE. I have to admit to being really surprised, and not expecting so much from them… But Respect where respect is due. They were grand.

My highlights of the day were defs system and bush.

Massive thanks to NANDOS for making a salad for me and meeting my dietary requirements. Sanity voice was winning yesterday, and I knew my cereal and apple were not enough to eat, so I went in search of food, and Nandos were able to make me a simple (yet delish) chicken salad. I drank water all day. Working the gates was relatively fun!. I got sick of guys staring at me all day. I dont get why they did it, and I dont care, but I felt so uncomfortable most the day, because I would feel someone looking, and look around, and some dude is just staring at me, Or I would walk past people and they were staring. i hate that. I had to check my makeup so many times (it was raining… so i was mostly just checking for emo eyes - not re-doing!), and it was always fine - though coming off from the rain *shrug* (it wasnt raining when I left!). One guy though was so sweet. I sat down at Madina Lake, because I was wrecked from standing all day, and I was about to stand up to go over to System… and he came over and offered to help me get up (a blessing in my skinnies which have no spandex or elastane in them!). Now, I could have stood up on my own, but… I thought it was really nice of him to offer me a hand - even though I was a good 5 inches taller than him! A male friend once said to me, I know you are an independant woman and all that, and thats fine and I respect it… Sometimes guys want to do nice things though - especially for girls. Just let us offer you a hand, or open a door. We like doing it, and we ask that you respect it. It isnt meant to be demeaning. I always hear that when guy offers a hand or something.

And then I came home, and I took off my mud splattered skinnies, and got clean, and went to bed… and It was like laying down on a cloud.

Then I woke up with a headache, and here we are.
